system of differential equations
a collection of (usually linear) differential equations in the unknown functions \(y_1(t), y_2(t), \dotsc, y_n(t)\)
coupled system of differential equations
a system of differential equations where each derivative \(y_j'(t)\) is related to a combination of the unknown functions \(y_1(t), y_2(t), \dotsc, y_n(t)\)
