Section 22.2 Terminology and notation

transition matrix
the square matrix that converts between coordinate vectors relative to one basis \(\basisfont{B}\) of a finite-dimensional vector space and coordinate vectors relative to another basis \(\basisfont{B}'\) of that space; sometimes called the change of basis matrix for the two bases
\(\ucobmtrx{B}{B'}\)
the transition matrix from basis \(\basisfont{B}\) to \(\basisfont{B}'\)
