Your profile – the WHO, the WHAT and the WHY |
I joined Dr. Thundat's group in 2011 as a M.Sc. student. I received my B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from South Tehran University, Tehran, Iran. My research is focused on phase-change microactuators. Microactuators using the phase change actuation mechanism have been implemented in numerous microfluidic devices, as they are easy to fabricate, stable and durable. Nevertheless, they also feature a very slow response, and this renders them unusable for applications where rapid valving is critical. I'm trying to fabricate a fast response phase change microactuator, which can be integrated into lab-on-a-chip (LOC) systems and drug delivery devices where low leakage and high speed flow control are required. |
