Your profile – the WHO, the WHAT and the WHY |
I joined Professor Thundat's research group as an M.Sc. student in January, 2012, after a year of research and development work in the soil and groundwater remediation industry. I received a B.Sc. in engineering physics from the University of Alberta in 2010. I am presently focusing my research on the design of microscopic electro-mechanical sensors that can detect the electric fields produced by living organisms. These devices will be used to avert collisions between vehicles (such as automobiles and trains) and large wildlife by providing an early-warning signal to vehicle operators. In general, I am interested applying my experience in physics, programming, optics, electronics, and instrument design to real problems faced by industry, society, and the environment. |
