Your profile – the WHO, the WHAT and the WHY |
I obtained my B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran. As a Master's student at the U of A, I am currently studying biofilm growth in a simulated porous media environment in the presence of an external stimulant like electric field. Biofilm is an aggregate of bacteria that grows on a surface and could lower the permeability of porous media. One particular application of this research is in the oil sands where the production of the oil could be increased by controlling the biofilm growth in reservoirs. |
