Co-supervisor:
W. Jan A. Volney (Canadian Forest Service)

Primary Research Topic:
Forest Entomology, Arachnology

Project Description:

My current research tests the natural disturbance paradigm for forest harvest using epigaeic spiders as a focal taxon. My goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of spiders as environmental, ecological, and biodiversity indicators and in so doing, will contribute to the understanding of mechanisms that structure biodiversity. I am undertaking this research in the context of the Ecosystem Management Emulating Natural Disturbance (EMEND) experiment approximately 90km NW of Peace River, AB.
