Matsushima

Rie took the shinkansen from Tokyo and met me in Sendai for the weekend. We drove to Matsushima on Saturday evening and walked around some of the little islands. It's supposedly Japan's third most scenic spot, and I think the thunder storm really added to it's beauty. Then on Sunday we walked around Sendai for a while and watched some of the bands who were performing for Sendai's annual Jazz festival. It was a nice weekend, but on a sad note, due to some very difficult circumstances, Rie and I probably won't be able to see much of eachother in the future.
