Nitheesh Kumar Ramasamy joined the CCWJ in 2023. Currently a Masters Student, he was previously a research intern at the CCWJ in the summer of 2022 through MITACS Globalink. He is also the Secretary & Treasurer for the University of Alberta AWS/CWBA Student Chapter. Nitheesh is primarily working on the assessment of thermophysical properties for the modelling of Welding and Additive Manufacturing. Mia Abdulla

Materials Engineering
Mia Abdulla has been a Masters Student with the CCWJ since 2024. She is a two-time recipient of the Dean’s Reach Award for her work in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), and a recipient of the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research award. She is also the President of the University of Alberta AWS/CWBA Student Chapter. Mia’s research focuses on the qualification of WAAM for producing pressure-rated components, such as flanges, used in Alberta’s energy sector.
