Students for Indian Development

Students for Indian Development (SFID) is comprised of a group of dedicated university students aiming to make a tangible difference in the lives of the less fortunate. As many of us are finishing our undergraduate degrees, it seems fitting that we experience life outside academic parameters.

DID YOU KNOW?
That of every 100 children born in India:
- 47 will be malnourished
- 25 are not immunized against disease
- 16 will have no access to clean drinking water
- 15 will never go to school
Students for Indian Development (SFID) wants to make a difference in the lives of children in India. With the passion, willingness, time and dedication to the task, SFID intends to travel to the city of Puna to volunteer.

SFID members will volunteer with two organizations that deal with women and children in a development framework that includes work in the medical, social, and educational fields.
The two nonprofit organizations that will host the SFID volunteers are the Deep Griha Society and the Akanksha Foundation.
