Funding and Support Acknowledgement

The Digital Communities Broadband Portal is only made possible through a number of contributions.

Initial seed funding for the portal was provided by the Kule Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) at the University of Alberta. This funding was provided in the form of a KIAS grant for establishing digital archives at the University of Alberta.

Ongoing support for the portal, and in particular the back end repository, is provided by the University of Alberta Libraries. In addition to providing the repository space (within the Education and Research Archive (ERA)), University of Alberta Libraries staff has provided their time to support the repository as a part of the KIAS grant.

In addition to KIAS and University of Alberta Libraries the portal also owes its origins to the Van Horne Institute’s Digital Futures Symposiums that have been held across Alberta over the past several years. Digital Futures has provided an important venue for developing and refining the portal.
