Charlebois Lab (cLab) research is at the interface of physics and biology and aims to advance our quantitative understanding of living systems and eliminate antimicrobial resistance. We develop physics-based mathematical/computational/machine learning models, engineer magnetic field devices, and perform experiments on genetically engineered and pathogenic yeasts. The cLab biosafety level 2 biophysics-microbiology laboratory is located in the Centennial Center for Interdisciplinary Science at the University of Alberta in Canada. Our fundamental research is being translated into AI-driven point-of-care diagnostic devices at BioSciAI Inc., a spin-off company out of the cLab and University of Alberta.
