Membership in the Canadian Association of Slavists is open to all scholars engaged in teaching and research in the area of Central and East European Studies, including university, college and secondary school teachers and librarians. Membership is also open to university and college students in these fields as well as persons professionally engaged in research in these fields. Associate membership is open to all persons interested in the aims and activities of CAS, but such members will not have the power to vote at CAS meetings nor be elected to any office.
CAS membership is on a calendar year basis. Dues are set on a sliding scale depending on the member's status and employment (see table below).
Dues are customarily paid at the beginning of each calendar year.
Kindly note that if we receive your membership dues after February 15 of the current calendar year, we may have to send you only the electronic version of the March issue of Canadian Slavonic Papers/Revue canadienne des slavistes instead of a hard copy. Please renew early to guarantee a hard copy.
The privileges of CAS membership are these:
- CAS members receive a subscription to Canadian Slavonic Papers/Revue canadienne des slavistes (published quarterly, in March, June, September and December)in both hardcopy and electronic form
- CAS members may present papers at the CAS Annual Conference.
- Non-members may attend the Conference, but they may not present papers (except in the case of invited non-Canadian guests).
- CAS members are entitled to the Association's newsletters and informational mailings, in electronic and print formats.
