Original objective of this study where addressed with the results of various PCA outputs.
The first objective to get all data in master flat file for analysis was met.
The second objective to find evidence of genotype by environment interaction was also met. The common trend was seen in all CPA out puts form Clonal, Hybrid, and Provenance trial data sets. Northward movement almost always produces a positive growth response. Specifically with the Provenance trial, exceeding 10 degrees of latitude resulted in equal or worse performance as compared to local sources.
The Hybrid trial analysis showed two things. First, that southern sources of female for use in mating perform better than northern sources. Since this analysis was done after the Clonal and Provence trial analysis this is not a surprising finding. Second, the sourcing of exotic pollen from either Finland or Korea produced the best growth compared to local sources. Chinese source was not well represented so true conclusion cannot be reached.
Further analysis of this data will be possible by adding climate variables which may help the most with the clonal trial data sets.
