Honi Ha'Meagel

Instead of praying for Aristobulus to be destroyed, Honi prayed: O God, ruler of the Universe, these men beside me are your people. Those who they are fighting are your priests. I pray to you, do not listen to any of them as they pray against each other. Do not do what these men ask you to do to one another.

When he prayed in this manner, the wicked among the people stoned Honi to death.
