Getting Help with Technology

If you are having problems with technology, you have a number of resources available to you.

  • Other students are often able to help - you are probably not the first person to experience a particular difficulty. SLIS'ers are a friendly bunch - don't be afraid to ask the students around you!
  • SLIS has hired a Graduate Teaching Assistant to help students with their use of technology and work on some projects around the school. Don't be afraid to contact the SLIS GTA, if you are having problems.
  • The faculty can be tremendously helpful, especially if you are having problems with course-specific software. All the faculty are very approachable and helpful - don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
  • AICT operates a helpdesk to assist students. Their website has a wealth of information on computing resources at the University of Alberta. They are the people to talk to if you have problems with your email, accessing UWS or your storage space, or other is sues relating to technology on campus.
