PHILOSOPHY 580: AESTHETICS [taught with PHIL 480, A1]

The seminar will focus on environmental aesthetics, and especially on the problems involved in the aesthetic appreciation of nature. In the initial part of the course, we will briefly cover some background material on the history of aesthetics. We will follow that up by working through the essays on the aesthetics of nature in the Carlson/Berleant anthology listed below.
