Marsh Hoke

There hasn’t been any grooming for 10 days, but the trails are still snow-covered and the track is defined.  About one centimeter of new snow fell yesterday.  I skied the 10K this morning, and it was good.  Expect conditions to deteriorate with the warm weather forecast for next week.  No more grooming is planned.

See the Muskeg Flyers’ public Facebook page for updates.   For further information, call or email Marsh Hoke, Muskeg Flyers Nordic Ski Club Trails Chair, at 780-723-2460 or bigeddie@telus.net.

Hidden Springs

Well, Spring has finally arrived! Got a note from a diehard skier this morning marking what is probably the end of the season. Took his last ski yesterday at Rundle’s! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who supported the area trails this winter. Despite numerous adversities, the skiing was pretty good. Remember….. Rundle’s, as well as PLPP trails are open for hiking, biking and running,  although vehicle access to the Park is restricted. Just watch your distancing! Happy & Healthy Trails to All….. Michael

Red Deer

Red Deer NSC & Area maps

This is a winter that seems to never end. We have had some snow that has served to line some icy classical tracks and make them quite skiable in Heritage Ranch and around the ball diamonds at Great Chief Park. Unfortunately the connecting trail up river is rough and melted out in a few places. Contemplating one more grooming since the forecast shows abnormally cool temperatures and even more snow until next Tuesday. This should be the last report from Red Deer.  Grooming has ended at River Bend. See the club’s Facebook page.

Track set the WR trails. Map is here.  We had a huge dump of snow last night and a solid base. We will be still skiing here in St Paul at our WR Trails, and if the weather continues might for another 2-3 weeks. It is spring, right?

The golf course trails are closed for the season.
