Module 7 Assignment: Issues
The assignment had three aspects to it. First, I was to initiate a conference topic(s) on the course WebBoard.
The conferences that I initaited were related to serial publications (EJournal) and library tours (LibTour). The second part of this assignment was to include a list of those conferences that I
participated in. Here is the list of those conferences that I submitted comments to:
- ESL-NET :
Adiscussion group focusing on the pros and cons of online ESL education.
- Email Ref :
A discussion group focusing on the use of the Internet to provide reference services and library policies
surrounding that.
- libissue :
A discussion group focusing on the concerns of providing Internet access in libraries.
- librole :
A discussion group focusing on the role of the Internet in libraries: a bibliographic tool or a mechanism leading to the virtual library.
The third aspect of this assignment was to participate in the "Course Help Conferences". My particiaption
was limited because I found print sources to be of greater use then using computer mediated conferencing to answer
my queries.
