The formal rus’ka is performed at specific ceremonial moments at Svitlana and Vasyl’s wedding. It’s form has remained quite stable since at least the beginning of the 20th century. In these excerpts, it is danced by the key personalities at the wedding as other guests look on, on Sunday evening. The tone is formal and ceremonial, and participation is seen as an honour. Later, it is danced again with the wedding gifts.
