The draw for the IBM ViaVoice was made at 12:30pm in the Offices of Computing & Network Services at the University of Alberta, with several staff members in witness of the event.
The email ballots were collected, and the names were printed on a sheet of paper that was cut into strips. The strips were thrown into a hat, and the Lovely and Talented NADA WALTER, CNS ID Registration Administrator, pulled the following slip, revealing the winner of FIRST PRIZE:
