The third annual Chemical and Materials Engineering Graduate Research Symposium was held on May 29, 2007. This day long event, organized by a group of volunteer graduate students from the department, was a great success.

This Symposium offerered our guests an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about some of the research being conducted by our graduate students – from surface and interfacial science to advanced materials and process control; we are exploring exciting opportunities for innovation. We are proud of the strong collaboration between our school and our many industry partners which makes much of our research possible.

In 2007 , the symposium also benefited from an international environment. We hosted about 30 graduate students and professors from the French Institute of Petroleum (IFP). Our visitors presented part of their research on heavy oil in the form of posters. A selected presentation is also incorporated into the program offering more acquaintance with the institute.
