Section 11.1 Motivation
Eventually we will find that some of the questions we encounter will not have satisfactory answers in certain cases without allowing complex numbers into the mix. In this chapter we begin preparing ourselves for this eventuality, by looking back at the theory we have developed so far and checking which parts hold up for complex numbers.
