RE_Mapping

Re-mapping project presents an exhibition of artistic works in the public space temporary in character, with accompanying video and multimedia program installed in the park which is located in front of the Museum of the Contemporary Art at the Belgrade's confluence. This project is a remapping of established exhibition practice, artistic practice, the visitors' relationship to the exhibition space, as well as the remapping of the park itself. The project makes references to the most current problematic of the local environment of the municipality of New Belgrade. Re-mapping is focused on the question of the acceptance and understanding of the public space, familiarity with and belonging to a local community as well as its mapping, not just as a micro-urban element of the city but also as the living organism that inevitably has to go through the process of its own de-mapping and remapping. At the same time this project is adequately corresponding to the contemporary artistic practice.
