| HOME PARTICIPANTS PROGRAM LOCATION ACCOMMODATIONS |
|
This workshop focuses on factors which are relevant to creating a corpus consisting of audio/video recordings and transcripts of naturally occurring Japanese conversation, which allows multidisciplinary researchers to study sound; grammar; nonverbal aspects such as gaze, gestures, and other body movements; communication strategies; emotion; stance; and interactional behaviors as the language is used in actual speech. It will feature corpus experts from multiple continents and disciplines who will discuss issues relating to data collection, transcription, and sharing in order to prepare for the proposed corpus.
