At PIKE, we strive for nothing short of excellence.
This year, the Lambda Epsilon chapter will be putting in 110% to once again take home the Smythe award for 2016 in New Orleans.
Robert Adger Smythe Award 2002
Over the course of our short existence on the University of Alberta campus, the Lambda Epsilon chapter has been awarded on numerous ocasions for our dedication and contribution to the community. Shortly after recieving our charter, our chapter was awarded the Robert Adger Smythe Award in 2002 that recognized the Lambda Epsilon chapter for being the “best of the best” amongst all of Pi Kappa Alpha. In 2015, both the active chapter and alumni association received an award during PIKE University 2015.
Raymond L. Orians Excellence Award
The Raymond L. Orians Chapter Excellence Awards recognize overall chapter excellence. The chapters that win this award are amongst the best on their campus and Pi Kappa Alpha’s most competitive chapters. The qualifications for this award are as follows:
- 1. A Chapter Performance Score of at least a 3.25 (out of 4.0)
- 2. An active membership of at least 50 initiates
- 3. An alumni advisory board as deemed by regional president
- 4. Chapter representation at all Pike University events (including at least one Leadership Summit)
William R. Nester Award
Over the last four years, the Lambda Epsilon Alumni Association have been continually awarded the William R. Nester Award for Outstanding Chapter Based Alumni Association. This recognizes our alumni association as one of the top 10% of chartered alumni associations in all of North America. Not only does this award demonstrate that the association’s activities and events build and maintain strong brotherly ties amongst the alumni, but also, the association’s activities advance the Fraternity’s Vision and serve to benefit our Mission and Creed.
