Fall 2010

School is here! Our weekly activities are starting up again. We have weekly Bible studies and bi-weekly large group meetings. Also we have a weekly volunteer collaboration with Kidsfest that enables us to make a difference in the city of Edmonton. Listed below are the various activities that make up our regular school year schedule. Specific dates and one time events can be found on the 'What's Happening' page in the calendar.

Morph

Weekly Morph Meeting

Morph is our gathering (we meet every other Friday) at 5pm where we start by sharing a home-cooked meal (cost $4) followed by time in the Bible and discussion. We take this time to fix our eyes on Jesus so that we will be "morphed," transformed by God and the gospel towards maturity in Christ (becoming more like Jesus). We trust our time will spur one another on to love and good works. So bring your Bible and join us as we explore a framework towards maturity in Christ.
Day: Friday (every other Friday, please see calendar for specific dates and locations)
Time: 5-7pm
Location: Check Calendar for details

MTC: Missional Transformational Communities

Intimate, accountable relationship with other believers is the foundation for growing to be apprentices of Jesus’ life and teachings. For this to happen, we are intentionally keeping our MTC same gender and in groups of 3-4. As MTC participants, we are committing to cultivating environments of grace in MTC so that we are ever-increasing in our openness and transparency to the extent which we are willing to reveal to others those areas of our life that need God’s transforming touch. We want to grow to be people who trust God and others with who we really are in authentic, vulnerable and safe MTC relationships. In our MTC, we seek to

  1. Spend time in God’s Word—understanding the Gospel and living out the Gospel in all areas of our lives so that we become people who are shaped by God’s story, loving God and Jesus, and becoming more like Jesus.
  2. Missional Transformational Communities
  3. Be in mutual accountability. We recognize not only our need for God in our lives, but also our need for others to help us walk in a manner worthy of our Lord Jesus. What does that kind of relationships look like? We affirm one another through encouragements, walk with one another through difficult times, assists one another to hear God’s guidance in life’s complexities, celebrate one another's joys, confess our sins to one another and pray for one another so that we may be healed.
  4. Engage in mission together. We pray earnestly to God for our friends and family members who don’t know Jesus yet on a daily basis for their salvation and for opportunities to alert people around us the Good News of Jesus and His Kingdom.
