All bachelor candidates must take the chorale ensemble plus any other ensemble either as a complement to the practicals when prescribed or as a departmental non credit requirement where practicals are not prescribed

BFA LEVEL 200    All theory courses are compulsory. The two practical courses in music are optional,   but students must take the two practical courses per year from one of the Departments of the School of Performing Arts. Theory courses offer 2 credits, practicals 3 credits.

B.MUS. LEVEL 300 The student is required to take the nine core courses (75% of credits) and any three of the electives (25 % of credits) to obtain 36 credits.

BFA. LEVEL 300    BFA. students must take courses   from any two departments at the School of Performing Arts to obtain 28-30 credits by the end of the year. However if the B.FA student is planning to do a Single Major in Music at level 400 then the four core music courses are compulsory

BA.LEVEL 400    BA students doing a Combined Major (alongside courses from other Departments) are required to take the core courses and prescribed electives to obtain a minimum of 18 credits.

B.MUS.LEVEL 400   The student is required to take the nine core courses (75% of credits) and any three of the electives (25% of credits) to obtain 36 credits. Free electives are allowed to top up.

BFA  LEVEL 400    BFA students doing their  Single Major in the Music Department  of  the School of Performing Arts must do the four core subjects and prescribed electives to obtain a minimum of 28-30 credits by the end of the year. Those BFA students  doing a Combined Major must take courses   from any two departments at the School of Performing Art  to obtain 28-30 credits by the end of the year (20 credits from the  major and 8-10  from the minor course)

M.A./M.Phil

The M.A. and M.Phil. students initially take the same one year program of compulsory four core courses and prescribed electives. However, M..A. students are required to obtain at least 24 credits from these courses to totalize 39 credits including the Dissertation (12 credits) and the Seminar presentation (3), whilst M. Phil. Students have a margin from 24 to 30 credits to totalize 66 credits, including 2 Seminar presentations (3+3 credits) and an M. Phil Thesis (30 credits). MA students are required to take 2 more courses to move to M. Phil., when admitted.
