Oil Sand Microwave Sensor

Oil sand industries and biomedical companies are in high demand for sensors to accurately provide them with real time information. Sensors measure physical and chemical parameters in environment and convert them to processable electrical signal. This area is one of the interesting research areas for researchers in different branches of science and engineering. In this project we are focusing on development of various integrated electromagnetic sensor configurations that can be used for none-contact sensing. Non-contact material characterization, liquid interface and level detection, and gas sensing are among the few that we have developed. Radio frequency and millimeterwave technology has been utilized to integrate the entire structure in very small form factor. The main focus has been on permittivity variation measurement as a fingerprint. These techniques are low cost and reproducible therefore very attractive for sensing application.
