Biography

Dr. Zhong is the director and founder of the Built Environment Technology Lab (BETLab). Her research focuses on indoor air quality, air cleaning and disinfection, HVAC systems, and building energy. Her work integrates experimental, computational, and field approaches, with applications including UVGI, airborne infection control, wildfire-resilient ventilation, and sustainable building energy systems. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, and has led more than 30 research projects as Principal Investigator.

Prof. Zhong serves on the IAQVEC Board as Chair of the Mentorship & Student Programs Committee. She is also Chair of the Environmental Engineering Technical Committee of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering and is actively involved in ASHRAE and ISIAQ technical committees.
