Results of portable hand vane tests

The figure shows vane test results with portable hand vane were developed by PHRI carried out. Several model grounds of clay bed were prepared by consolidating Kaolin Clay at different consolidation pressure. Undrained shear strength potted against consolidation pressure in the figure increases linearly with the pressure, which indicates apparent efficiency of the vane to assess strength of clay.
