Saturday May 6, 2000 at the University of Alberta's Humanities Centre L-1, 7:00PM 

The 2000 Misfit Short Film & Video Festival is the province's only film festival to incorporate both amateurs and professionals into a single semi-competitive outlet in beautiful Edmonton, Alberta.  Entering its third year, the festival is organized by the UofA Film Zone and will take place on Saturday May 6th at the University of Alberta’s Humanities Centre, theatre L-1 (Saskatchewan Drive & 111 Street at 7:00PM). Admission is $3 per person, $1 for UofA Film Zone members and free for entrants (up to one person per entry).  The entry deadline is 4:00PM, April 14^th.

             Unique to Misfit is that entries must be under 20 minutes in length and there are no content restrictions, which allows film/video makers  to showcase their works of art to the fullest degree. Over 20 student volunteers are needed in the organization of the event and we expect around 200 spectators.

Misfit has been an incredible success these last two years and we have our sponsors to thank which include various businesses and individuals in the city. We salute all our sponsors for their generosity and provisions in the areas of advertisement, graphics design, poster duplication, greatly discounted services, and donations of prizes and cash. This year's major sponsors for the festival are Multimedia Communications Inc., Kokanee, and CJSR FM88. Our other very important sponsors are Badass Jack's Subs & Wraps Co., The Movie Studio, Nekid, and Sorrentino's Bistro & Bar.                    

We plan to make the festival night even more entertaining than last year with an expansion on the theme of "Misfit" and also with more trivia and charades for various prizes. We also intend to be more creative with the prizes for our top entries in recognition of their work.
