This inquiry activity invites students to Da Vinci’s hypotheses about human body proportions. It is designed for students (individually or in pairs) to select one of Da Vinci’s proportions, test the validity of the proportional assertion using measurement skills, analyze their data using linear regression models, and then present their findings to their classmates.

Through this activity, students are encouraged to generate their own questions about Da Vinci’s proportions. The activity is most effective as a way for students to demonstrate what they have learned about measurement and linear regression.

Grade Levels: 10-11
