Current PostDoc in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Petroleum Engineering
Extraction of geothermal energy through wells

Research Interests : Geothermal heat extraction, transport phenomena, thermodynamics, multiphase behavior of heavy oil and solvents, reservoir engineering and simulation, production engineering

I have Bsc and Msc of petroleum engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran and PhD in petroleum engineering from University of Alberta. I have been working as a PostDoc in Mechanical Enegineering department (Dr. Nobes Research team) since June 2019. My current research is modelling and designing closed loop systems for extracting geothermal energy to the surface. During my PhD studies at University of Alberta, I conducted an applied research in collaboration with Industry. During this period, I have focused on characterizing oil sand reservoirs, thermal reservoir simulation and optimization of thermal recovery methods such as Steam-Assisted-Gravity-Drainage (SAGD) and Solvent-Aided-Processes. I have two years of professional experience in industry as a reservoir and production engineer in Tehran Energy Consulting Company, I have been involved in several oil and gas projects where I have developed numerous petroleum engineering skills including geological modelling and data manipulation, production optimization, reservoir characterization
and modelling, production data history matching and reservoir simulation.
