Description of Work Term
It was an excellent opportunity to work under the direct supervision of the professor. During my work term, I learnt using different programming and design softwares efficiently. I was able to solve problems related to different projects using programming languages such as LabWindows/CVI and LabView.
I learnt and developed different project management skills, book keeping, and exercised my creative abilities. It was exciting to see interactions between different hardwares such as high speed cameras, data acquisition cards, stepping motor, signal generators etc., while developing programs for them. I learnt techniques to solve problems on the basis of trial and error, assumptions and make decisions based on techincal knowledge. I was able to practically apply design skills and implement theory learnt during my degree. It also gave me an opportunity to openly discuss and represent ideas to the supervisor and receive constant feedback as an engineer during my work term. Indeed, a brilliant opportunity to experience research environment which has also motivated me to learn more and do research for a post-graduation degree.

This system was designed to track micro-fluid particles by scanning a fluid flow channel with a high speed camera. The main aim was to develop a standalone program that could synchronize data acquisition card and high speed camera required for tracking the micro-fluid particles and design a model of the workbench.
