Dave was invited by the Hotchkiss Brain Institute to speak at the Spinal Cord/Nerve Injury & Pain NeuroTeam Community Research Retreat in Cochrane, Alberta. Dave presented his talk, entitled "Novel approaches for reducing fatigue of electrically-evoked contractions." The meeting brought together therapists, clinicians, researchers and individuals who have a spinal cord injury. It was a resounding success and we are all looking forward to the next time we all get together.

We welcome three new Masters students to our lab! Emily Ainsley, John Luu, Francisca Clavería will be part of our research team. Emily is a graduate of the University of Alberta and has been in our lab this past year assisting with some of our ongoing projects. She will be supported by an NSERC CGS M Scholarship. John Luu graduated from UBC with a BSc in Honours Biophysics. He will be supported by the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship. Francisca completed a BSc in Physical Therapy at Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile and has been at the University of Alberta to study Rehabilitation Science. She will be working in our lab as part of an interdisciplinary program between to study the effect of Neuromuscular Stimulation on fatigue.

"Summer" begins for our lab as we begin a season of non stop research. Jenny Lou and Sara Haring are in our lab with funding from AIHS and NSERC respectively. Jenny's project looks at interleaved stimulation on the quadriceps. Sara compares the effect of fatigue against different levels of contraction. Dylan Miller is here sponsored by the URI and will compare motor units between stimulation and in voluntary movements. Gavin Naicker plans to study the benefits of TMS on dystonia.
