We have returned from Australia! Everyone is exhausted from three weeks of travelling which included attendance of two conferences. We were in Brisbane to attend the ISEK 2012 Biennial Congress and then in Sydney for the International Motoneuron Meeting. We had fun presenting posters and giving talks. We will post some pictures from the trip in and upcoming update.

Paper accepted! Dr. Auger's (née Clair) paper entitled: "The effects of wide pulse neuromuscular electrical stimulation on elbow flexion torque in individuals with chronic hemiparetic stroke." has been accepted for publication in Clinical Neurophysiology. This work resulted from her collaboration with Dr. Jules Dewald at Northwestern University in Chicago.

We congratulate Jenny Lou for her successful applications to Alberta Innovates' New Summer Studentship Awards and to U of A's Undergraduate Research Initiative. Jenny's project will help to identify better ways to use neuromuscular electrical stimulation to strengthen pathways between the brain and muscle for individuals who have had a spinal cord injury or stroke. We look forward to working with her this summer!
