Hazard/Risk Assessments

-Every laboratory must have a Hazard/Risk Assessment on record.  That is what sets the entrance requirements to a laboratory space as well as any PPE requirements, other than the UofA Standard PPE Policy.

ARISE (formerly known as REMO) allows you to create a Hazard Assessment for the space, and to print off proper signage upon completion.   ARISE Manual

For Shared Laboratories a provision is made for having a “dummy” registration to create door signs with the proper contacts, and a list ALL the hazards in the room.   The Contacts on the sign should be the most knowledgeable about the space in case of an emergency.  Each PI can have their own Laboratory registration for the space with their associated lab users.
