Riveting Stuff


The Finance Honors Program is the highest standard of financial education available within the Alberta School of Business at the undergraduate level. Colloquially known as "Alberta Finance Honors," the students of this program are career-minded, well-rounded, and technically-savvy, honing their skills through rigorous training in the following areas.  

  • Problem Solving—how to frame and solve real-world problems by digging deep into the underlying financial principles.
  • Innovation and Disruption—how to think outside the box, recognize opportunities, and deliver creative solutions.
  • Financial Entrepreneurship—how to grow business in the real world, financing ventures from startup all the way up to full scale.
  • Data Science for Enterprises—how to operate industry-ready analytics, managing and deploying data at the largest possible scale.

How to apply

Admissions open in February and close in mid-April every year.  Applications received after April 1 are judged on a rolling basis. Select cases may be invited for interviews. Successful applicants are notified right after admissions close.  

To apply, email us  the following material 

  1. Your current CV
  2. Your current GPA
  3. An up-to-date transcript, obtained on the University system. Please highlight all grades you have received in courses in the following disciplines:
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Economics
    • Statistics
    • Mathematics

  4. A letter of intent, written entirely on your own, covering both topics below.
    • What motivates you personally to join the Honors Program? (max 250 words)
    • What makes you a good fit for the Honors Program? Make your case by offering evidence. (max 250 words)

You do not need to indicate which stream you prefer.
