Trainees

Trainees have the opportunity to learn in the imprint program in the following broad areas of study:

  1. Family/Child Focused Studies: Determining illness and care experiences/needs.
  2. Synthesis Studies: Synthesizing evidence through systematic and narrative reviews to formulate research, health care and policy recommendations.
  3. Measurement Studies: Developing clinical and educational measures to assist with health care delivery and personnel training.
  4. Intervention/Resource Studies: Evaluating care, policy and training for pediatric emergency mental health care.
  5. System Studies: Identifying gaps and strengths in health care access, delivery, and planning.

Current Trainees

Ms. Ashley Radomski
(PhD Pediatrics)
Ashley is a PhD student in the Department of Pediatrics. Her graduate work will involve working with Dr. Newton's interdisciplinary team on the Breathe project: an evaluation of a new Internet-based program for adolescents with anxiety. She will also be investigating how, why and for whom Internet-based interventions are beneficial. Ashley has a BA in Psychology and a MSc in Psychiatry from the University of Alberta. She has comprehensive training in neuropsychological assessment, and her academic and research background is in the area of cognitive and emotional assessment. In the past, she has provided crisis intervention on a local distress line and currently volunteers in the areas of Pediatrics and Psychiatry.
Dr. Neelam Mabood
(MSc Pediatrics)
Neelam began her graduate studies in January 2010 focusing her learning on multi-level experiences in emergency mental health services. She will work with children, youth, caregivers and clinicians to develop recommendations for improving clinical interactions in the Emergency Department for alcohol-related presentations.

Ms. Marghalara Rashid
(PhD Pediatrics)

Marghalara began her studies in January 2011 focusing her graduate work on families with children with acquired brain injury. She will use ethnographic methodology to describe the experiences of these families.
