Saving Your Configuration

Each time you save any changes on the Create Makefile, Build Options, or Search Files for Pattern windows, your compiler, build, project, and search options are saved in the .build_makefile, .build_config, or .build_find files in the current directory.

The next time you use these windows, the settings of the fields are restored from data in these files. The Program Builder searches for these files in the current directory first, then the home directory. If it still cannot find these files, the Program Builder searches the built-in defaults that are shipped with the product.

The Program Builder uses the first file found along this search path.

Note: The Program Builder uses the settings of the PATH, LIBPATH, and DB2DBDTF environment variables only when the built-in defaults are used.
