Q. How do I access my mail, calendar, and contacts during and after the migration?

A. You can access them from apps.ualberta.ca.

Q. I have been using Microsoft Outlook to read my mail. How is Gmail different?

A. Review Google's "Life after Microsoft Outlook" document to discover some of the key differences between Outlook and Gmail. The document also includes details on how to accomplish some common Outlook tasks with Gmail.

Q. How do I use labels?

A. Gmail uses labels rather than folders to organize messages. As part of the migration, your existing folders will be converted into labels. You can view an overview of how to use labels at the AICT Helpdesk.

Q. Can I send messages from my firstname.lastname@ualberta.ca address?

A. Yes. By default, when you send messages they will come from YourCCID@ualberta.ca. If you have setup a firstname.lastname@ualberta.ca alias, you can skip to step 2.

1. If you want to setup a new alias you can do this by going to Profile Manager. Once there, click the "E-mail" button and follow the instructions on that page. Please note that any alias must be approved before it can be used.

2. Setup the new email address in Gmail.

Q. What is the maximum attachment size?

A. With Gmail, you can send and receive messages up to 25 megabytes (MB) in size.
