Aurora Borealis and the Manicouagan Impact crater - a 214 Ma age impact structure in Quebec.

The construction of a hydroelectric reservoir has filled the outer ring of the impact structure with water, and makes it clearly visible.

This crater was once thought to date from the time of the end Triassic extinction, but refined dated has shown that this is not the case.
