Dr. McDaniel is the author of 6 books (including four research monographs), with 3 more in process, and more than 150 research articles and book chapters. Her 1986 book, Canada's Aging Population, has become very widely known and cited. Her 1994 research monograph, Family and Friends: General Social Survey Analysis Series (Statistics Canada, cata no. 11-612E) was published to coincide with the United Nations Year of the Family in 1994. Her most recent book, Close Relations: An Introduction to Sociology of Families (2000), was co-authored with Lorne Tepperman.
