Stephanie Peacock

About me.

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Alberta, under the supervision of Mark Lewis and Marty Krkosek. I began my PhD in 2010, after taking a course at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre that convinced me that ‘models in ecology’ was the path for me!

I competed my BSc at the University of Victoria in 2009, majoring in Biology and Earth and Ocean Sciences.  Before starting graduate school, I worked for the Fisheries and Oceans Canada developing metrics and sampling designs to evaluate the distribution of salmon returns across different streams in BC.

I am interested in continuing to use mathematical models to understand how interactions between individuals and species may drive changes in populations.  But when I’m not thinking about that, I’m probably having fun in the mountains.
