Methods of Addressing Disputes
When faced with a civil legal dispute, you can do one of five things:

  • Do nothing
  • Negotiate - try to come to a solution or settlement with the other party
  • Mediate - Use a neutral third party to facilitate settlement negotiation with the other party
  • Arbitrate - Use a neutral third party to reach a decision s
  • Litigate - Commence a lawsuit and have a judge reach a decision
