Methods of Addressing Disputes
When faced with a civil legal dispute, you can do one of five things:
- Do nothing
- Negotiate - try to come to a solution or settlement with the other party
- Mediate - Use a neutral third party to facilitate settlement negotiation with the other party
- Arbitrate - Use a neutral third party to reach a decision s
- Litigate - Commence a lawsuit and have a judge reach a decision
