It has been a while since our last t-shirt design contest but we definitely are going to be having one in January. In fact the dates for all three remaining t-shirt design deadlines this semester are already posted on the SAGA Calendar. They are January 21st, February 18th and March 18th respectfully.
And since there has been a delay I am expecting an abundance of witty designs for this upcoming election. Good luck everybody!!
As a brand new group SAGA has to establish an identity in the University community to form a strong connection with the students. However, SAGA will not follow old methods of advertising like printed signs or paper posters as our main technique. These old relics are usually ignored and rely on cutting down our beautiful forests, so instead SAGA shall use the incredible power of the t-shirt.
SAGA’s t-shirts are brightly coloured, sexy, sweatshop-free, extremely funny, socially responsible, and fashionable because they are made by American Apparel. Further we will have fun creative designs provided by SAGA members. Our designs and t-shirts will appeal to a younger audience, while at the same time spread word about our club, and challenge stereotypes about poverty.
Also every month SAGA members can submit and vote on new t-shirt designs that will go onto new t-shirts. This creates more membership involvement and it also satisfies our consumer appetite to be unique. Finally, the greatest benefit for the t-shirts is that all profits will go towards the Sierra Leone HIV/AIDS project. Lets all cheer... 1... 2... 3... YEAH!!!

SAGA believes that inspiration can come from anywhere and more importantly anyone. So we are looking for people to submit designs for our t-shirts.
This is your chance to leave a mark on the world. You can make history, you can make somebody happy, and don't worry if you think you can't draw. Self-doubt never accomplished anything and remember that SAGA members are fearless in challenging false attitudes... even if it is our own. Who knows maybe you can draw and you don't know it? Flashback to kindergarten, everyone thought they were artists, that's the attitude you need cause you are always wrong if you never try. And if you are already an artist, that's sweet, this is your chance to be famous. So if you are passionate about drawing and art or even just ice cream and naptime - submit your design today.
For the most part SAGA is laid-back about our t-shirts so almost anything goes and the only important rule is designs should be funny and creative with a positive or inspirational message to make the world a better place.
Other useful guidelines:
1) Submissions are accepted only by email.
2) Designs must be submitted as a computer file (scanned drawings are okay).
3) Maximum two colours as this saves on our operating costs (negotiable).
