Home.

Food. Yes- one of life's great pleasures! I began cooking many years ago as a way to feed myself after school (to spoil my dinner) before my parents came home. Needless to say I enjoyed it very much and after years of practice, several restaurant jobs, and many failed recipe creations, cooking and dining is still one of my favorite hobbies and pastimes today. Whether at the chef's table at one of the city's best restaurants or at the coffee table at home, nothing beats the satisfaction of a great meal. This, being one of my mantras in life, is the inspiration that has influenced me to create this website on the pleasures of food and cooking. More specifically, I will focus on my favorite culinary region: Southeast Asia. So, what exactly makes the region so unique? To answer that, a brief history is in order.

me enjoying a meal at pagolacOn this site, you will find useful information for anyone wanting to learn a little more about Asian cuisine, culinary history or culture. Even if you are not as passionate about cuisine as others, on this site you will probably come across some interesting facts you did not know before that could prove useful the next time you're at the water cooler. No matter what, I promise that all viewers will get some fun ideas for their next dinner party, check out some of the unique Asian restaurants in the Edmonton area, and see some great pictures along the way.

This site is divided into seven sections, reflecting the seven culinary regions of Southeast Asia:

Within each section, you will first find a brief introduction to the region and what makes its food unique. Next, I have posted the recipe to my favorite native dish to showcase the area flavour. Then, Edmontonians get a special treat as I review a restaurant in the city that specializes in that region's cuisine. Finally, some of my favorite links are listed for anyone wanting seconds. To navigate the site, simply use the flags in the bottom frame or the image map to fly to your next destination!

Before we get started, if you would like more information about my website, have any suggestions or would like to exchange tasty recipes, please feel free to contact me.

So, the question now becomes: where do you want to fly?
