For this week's discussion we will focus on the question of environment in relation

to our own consumption practices and to food in particular.  Food is essential to

our own survival, yet it is deeply implicated in environmental concerns and

problems.  To prepare for this week's seminar listen to this radio documentary

entitled the Whole Wide World.  What is our responsibility as consumers for

issues of environmental degradation?  Are there alternative ways to organized

food consumption? Are they practical in your view?  Note: After the introduction

of the documentary, there is approximately a 5 minute musical interlude.
