This week we are discussing several concrete alternatives to neo-liberal forms

of economic globlization.  Are alternatives possible?  What kinds of

responsibility do we as individuals need to accept in order for alternatives

to be realized?  Are the alternatives we have looked at politically desirable?

Are they feasible?  To frame this discussion, we are going to be spending some

time, in particular, on the local currency movement.  Listen to this interview

with an activist from the local currency movement.  What do you make of

his ideas for local currencies?  Are they feasible?  Is the ethical  content of

local currencies attractive?  Would you participate?  Do you think this could

form a substantive alternative to neo-liberal forms of globalization?
