PRIME is the Program for Research and Investment Management Excellence.  It is sponsored by the Edmonton Society of Financial Analysts, in partnership with the University of Alberta School of Business.  We have a team of advisors from various investment and wealth management firms, who along with the course coordinator help to facilitate the activities of the PRIME students and broaden their knowledge base.  PRIME also organizes the PRIME Investment Professionals Seminar Series, where speakers from Edmonton’s financial community come to the School of Business to talk about investment related topics.  Finally, PRIME provides students with an opportunity to manage the PRIME Fund, a portfolio worth over $300,000. 

PRIME represents a two-year commitment by students.  Students in the second year of the program who are managing the PRIME Fund are registered in Fin 436, a three-credit-hour class.  A number of internships are also available specifically for PRIME students during the summer.  If you feel that PRIME can be valuable for you, it is important that you become involved immediately in the program. 

PRIME is always looking for new students to enter the program!  We will be recruiting again in September so if you are a third year student interested in joining, stay tuned.
